It will be my honor on Tuesday January 26, 2010 to be recognized with the 2010 William J. Lasarow Award for outstanding pro bono service. I have been volunteering for the Debtor Assistance Project for over a year and it is very rewarding to help people who have been profoundly victimized by the recession.
I see twenty new debtors a week at the self-help desk and it has given me enormous exposure to many different types of problems. The experience I have received from working the self-help desk has dramatically increased my understanding and depth of knowledge in bankruptcy.
I look forward to continuing my work in the assistance of debtors in the coming year.
